Learning new information is generally less difficult than applying new information. In the world of sports nutrition, health & fitness, the greatest struggle for men and women by far is the application of the knowledge, not its acquisition. The true power and multiple benefits of optimum health absolutely lie in the doing! Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
You can't apply what you don't know so the first step is to acquire the right knowledge. Secondly, if you don't apply the knowledge then you can't receive the benefits. Although it appears some people know what to do and choose not to, essentially, they really don't know. I personally define knowing through the action of doing. If you think you know then you will do. If you don't do then you really don't know. It's that simple!
Today more than ever people need help in both the acquisition and application of health related knowledge. If you have the desire to learn there is hope, for without a genuine desire to be well, lean and fit, there is nothing. Take a good look around you. If you're looking at the same group of people I see every day walking around the streets of Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto, waiting for buses, shopping in malls, waiting in line at banks or attending concerts and sporting events, then you know what I mean. People are really struggling with their health!
As a collective our society needs a practical and efficient tool to help all of us stay on the health track. If you let your brain idle or wander about in the wrong direction too long it will absorb the wrong information by default. If however, we carefully manipulate what we put into our minds then we can control our actions towards an ideal health outcome as a consequence. First we think, then we do. All action is preceded by thought. Pour the right information into the well of your mind and you will definitely begin moving in the right direction.

Compliance to the universal laws that govern our individual health and wellness is the prime directive of life. Nature isn't prejudice. If you disobey her she will take you down well before your time and along the way you will suffer needlessly and miserably. As Francis Bacon once said, "To command Nature we must first obey her."
The root word of emoducation is Emoducate. To emoducate the mind means to elevate the sensory portion of the brain by listening to your favorite music using an iPod or MP3 player during exercise and physical activity, enabling you to consciously absorb, utilize and retain selected educational tutorials, interviews and health related data in digital audio format.
Ideally the educational data is of personal interest, related to sports nutrition, health & fitness, and shuttled spontaneously between musical interludes while the brain is emotionally stimulated by the music. Many people already know that music and exercise go hand-in-hand. Music is a powerful medium that stimulates dance, physical movement and action! In this state of heightened emotion, the brain is wide open to receive health related information. Go ahead, I dare you to try this technique. Emoducate yourself and discover what true health and wellness is all about!
Listening to your favorite music when walking, running, in-line skating or pumping iron has become a national pastime. But many athletes are not taking advantage of the motivation and inspiration possible to experience through the process of emoducation. Emoducation is superior for the retention and potential application of knowledge compared to listening to the same educational data without the simultaneous accompaniment of music and physical movement. When the body physically moves and is charged with the electricity of music, muscles contract, the heart beats faster and more oxygen is delivered to the brain. As a consequence neurons in the brain become more sensitive, receptive and biologically active.
Music Therapy
As a result of music therapy blood oxygen saturation (SaO2) actually increases. Listening to music is therefore a natural form of blood doping. Listening to music provides a statistically significant increase in oxygen transfer and SaO2, which is why it has been brought to the attention of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
The tremendous ability that music has to affect and manipulate emotions and the brain is undeniable, and yet largely unexplained. There is evidence that music can lower levels of cortisol in the body and raise levels of melatonin. This is outwardly visible in terms of music's ability to relax, calm, and gently sooth the mind, and stimulate powerful emotions related to pleasure, joy and comfort. Music is often used in the background to relax patients or relieve anxiety. It can also stimulate the release of endorphins which can help manage chronic pain. Music, health, fitness and education all go hand-in-hand.
Begin by downloading sports nutrition, health & fitness related pod casts and educational audio files to your computer from the internet then transfer these files to your MP3 player. Next, download your favorite songs and music to your computer from the internet or CDs then transfer this music to your MP3 player.
Listen to your MP3 player in shuffle mode (spontaneous selections) in the gym, on a treadmill, when running, rollerblading, cycling, or any type of fitness. If you don't have an MP3 player, then burn your favorite music and audio files to a CD and emoducate yourself in your car. Enjoy the multiple benefits and Power of Emoducation! Edify Yourself!
