Derek Evely is a highly successful coach and athletics educator. In the mid-1990s, he was the Head Coach of the Kamloops Track and Field Club before moving to Edmonton to work as the Sport Science Manager at the Canadian Athletics Coaching Centre (CACC).

Focusing on coach education and training, application of sport science to track and field, and the overall development of the sport in Canada, the CACC was a hugely successful endeavor that led to Derek being recruited to a high-level position with United Kingdom Athletics, the sport governing body for Britain.

Today Derek is a professional coach with expertise in all areas of speed power development, with a passion for the heavy throwing events in Athletics. He is the owner / president of Eveltrak Sports Consulting, a company that specializes in educating coaches from all sport backgrounds and disciplines on matters relating to developmental and elite sport performance.

Derek also works with elite athletes and advises on training strategy and methodology. His current and past clients include various international federations such as Britain, Australia and China, Altis Elite Training Center in Phoenix, AZ and Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar. Derek currently lives in Kamloops, BC with his wife Jody and three 3 children.
