Dr. Willoughby holds BS and MEd degrees in Exercise Science from Tarleton State University and a PhD in Exercise Physiology with a sub-emphasis in Nutritional Biochemistry from Texas A&M University. He is a Fellow of the ACSM and ISSN.
He was a former President of the International Society of Sports Nutrition ISSN and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the NSCA and a certified sport nutritionist from the ISSN.
Dr. Willoughby is an internationally recognized scholar. His primary research focuses on the molecular mechanisms regulating muscle hypertrophy and atrophy as a result of resistance exercise and/or nutritional supplementation.
