George Du Rand CSNA: Olympic Athlete

George Du Rand is an Olympic athlete swimmer and a resident of South Africa. He competed at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and is currently training for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. In 2009 at the FINA World Cup in Moscow, George set a world record in the short course meters version of the 200m Backstroke.

George has a BA in Human Movement Science from the University of the Free State, South Africa, and is a Certified Sports Nutrition Advisor, currently working on his CSNA Masters degree. George specializes in high performance swimming, strength and conditioning, performance enhancement, sports nutrition and general fitness.

Through his Athletic Edge website business, George provides many athletic and health related services including Skype consultations, online coaching, personal training, seminars and lectures and mentorship. His personal passion for health and fitness ranks second only to his passion for helping students and clients improve their health and performance.
