Imagine a drink that will assist in building up your immune system, aid in holiday fat loss and act as a powerful tonic for a sore throat, nasal or bronchial infection.

Fresh ginger can be very helpful for managing symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. Ginger acts as a natural antacid by buffering and neutralizing excess acid. It is well known as an effective anti-inflammatory in sports nutrition and helps sooth the lining of the gastrointestinal tract.

Fresh garlic has research proven antibiotic properties. It functions as a febrifuge which reduces and prevents fever, a vermifuge which expells parasites, a sudorific which promotes sweating and a diuretic which boosts the excretion of unwanted fluids. Garlic is good for what ails ya!

Chili peppers contain capsaicin, the potent substance that gives them their fiery character. Almost 80 percent of the capsaicin in a chili resides in its seeds and membranes. Chilies can act as a beneficial digestive tonic; they also provide therapeutic benefits for the heart and arteries. Chilies are a great source of Vitamin C and valuable antioxidants.

In a large pot add:

  • 2 Litres of filtered water
  • 2 bulbs grated garlic
  • 4 Tablespoons chopped fresh ginger
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon red chili peppers
  • ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (add at the end of cooking)
  1. Simmer all of the above ingredients for one hour
  2. Strain into a pitcher
  3. Add fresh lemon juice
  4. Refrigerate and drink throughout the day or night

You can also drink Aftermath Health Drink warmed. Enjoy the taste and the benefits .

Suggestions:

  • Keep the strained ingredients and add to brown rice with chopped pineapple.
  • This is a delicious broth to make any type of soup.
